Illinois Energy Windows & Siding Review

When we purchased our home in August 2006 the previous owner had just installed a new siding glass door for the patio. But less than 2 years later, the glass had condensation and the licking mechanism on the door handle hardware was failing We were in the market for door.

Not wanting to sink down a sizable amount of money for a door that wouldn't last, we chose to go with Illinois Energy. Illinois Energy offers a lifetime, transferable warranty on its products, It covers everything, including parts and labors. A sliding glass door gets a lot of use in our home with pets and children. The unlimited warranty provided reassurance for the expenditure we were making. Furthermore, we knew it would be an important selling point when we sold our home since it is transferable to the next owner. Illinois Energy has a good reputation with the Better Business Bureau. They do not subcontract any of their work. All the installers are employees of Illinois Energy. It was also nice to know that Illinois Energy is a local company, not a national franchise.

We wanted to upgrade to an Energy Star door that would meet the new federal tax credit criteria for energy efficiency. Illinois Energy not only installed the door, but also promptly provided us with the necessary manufacturer certification letter required by the IRS.

Illinois Energy's service and quality of work was great from start to finish. The door arrived in less than the time frame quoted; it was installed promptly, and around our schedule. The installers were professional, polite, and neat. They took care of not only the finishing work around the exterior of the door, but replaced the old interior molding with a nice oak molding.

We've had the door now for 3 months. It is solid, well made, and slides smoothly. Though you can find less expensive windows and doors elsewhere and through the big box stores, you get what you pay for. Windows and doors are one of the most expensive replacement items in a home. The extra value, quality, and peace of mind from Illinois Energy are worth it. We recommend Illinois Energy to homeowners shopping for new windows.

Sincerely,

Bob and Susan H.
